A California-based luxury candy store has started bringing its Tiffany-esque treat boxes to Boston with a new boutique at the Prudential Center. Sugarfina, which started as an online shop in 2012, now has stand-alone stores and retail partners across the country.
The store opened at the Prudential Center in mid-December, with its gummy bear-lined walls, imported chocolates, cocktail-inspired candies, marshmallows, and more.
Sugarfina is the work of a couple, Rosie O'Neill and Josh Resnick, who started the company after getting some inspiration from the ultimate candy man, Willy Wonka. The two saw the movie for their third date and later set about scouring the globe for fine, artisan candies they could compile to satisfy the American sweet tooth.
Aside from visiting the company's brick-and-mortar stores, candy lovers can still shop online, buying cubes of candy by the style, or putting together "bento boxes" of sweet treats.
