Sabertooth Vegan Bakery is "going on permanent vacation," owner Evie Noël announced on Instagram today. As of late August, the business resided inside of Taco Party, a vegan taco shop in Somerville's Ball Square. (Taco Party will remain open.)

In her announcement, Noël wrote that the business has been going on for about five years (and many kitchens). She founded Sabertooth in Burlington before coming to Boston in 2012, and at one point she was based at Fazenda in Jamaica Plain.

"I love it and all my awesome customers but things here just haven't been working out," she continued. "It's always been my dream to live in California and work on an animal sanctuary and I was offered an amazing opportunity to do that. It came at the perfect time of just feeling bad about things here and I have to do this for me (and a bunch of neglected animals)...I'm sorry and sad to leave you all but I'm glad it's for a good reason and I know I'll be back in the kitchen (somewhere?!) someday. Thank you so much for everything."

She doesn't have an end date to share yet but notes that it will be within the next two weeks, so now's the time to stock up. Sabertooth offers a wide range of doughnuts and other baked goods, all vegan.
