A Burlington, Vermont-based bagel shop is days away from peddling bagels to the good people of Newton.
The Bagel Place, a family-run restaurant that specializes in steamed bagels and a wide range of schmears, has made its bagels in-house since 2012. It started in South Burlington, gaining a loyal local following, and is now pushing south with this Newton Upper Falls location at 300 Needham St.
In addition to its bagels and cream cheeses, the shop serves breakfast sandwiches, salads, soups, and other lunch items. And don't forget the coffee, which the Vermont Bagel Place sources from Uncommon Grounds, a company that seeks high-quality and responsibly grown beans to roast.
The Newton shop posted on Facebook about the planned opening and shared a photo of employees in the kitchen.
We are finally making bagels. Get ready Newton. We open on Monday. The Bagel Place opens at 6 am. The first five customers gets to pick one treat out of our bakery box for free.
