A forthcoming North Shore restaurant is in need of a chef. Feather & Wedge is set to open this May at 5 Main St. in Rockport's center, and the men behind it — Stephen Smit and Charles Gladstone — have started a hunt for the right culinary mind to support their venture.
The restaurant, named for the tools Rockport workers used to split granite, will be a locally focused eatery with wine, beer, and cocktails.
Feather & Wedge seeks an experienced chef to oversee the opening and day-to-day restaurant operations, according to a post on Boston Chefs. The town of Rockport attracts a large number of tourists in the warmer seasons. While it was a dry town for 150 years, alcohol regulations have been changed in recent years.
The restaurant and bar will seat 50, featuring foods sourced from around the area. Feather & Wedge is taking over a gallery and retail store space. (The owners of Half Moon Harry and Traveling Bohemian, the gallery and store, plan to find new locations.)
