A long-vacant space on Beacon Street near Fenway will finally have a new resident: Waxy O'Connors is moving in where Mission Cantina used to be at 1032 Beacon St.
The "modern Irish bar" has had plans to take over the Brookline space since last June, and according to Boston Restaurant Talk, it will actually open next month. Waxy O'Connor's posted about job openings on Craigslist, making note of this opening timeline.
Waxy O'Connor's has eight other locations in Massachusetts (including a recently opened Kingston restaurant), Connecticut, New Hampshire, Texas, and Florida. The menu features a number of flatbreads, sandwiches (including a corned beef reuben), burgers, soups and salads, and appetizers like scotch eggs (soft boiled, wrapped in Portuguese chorizo with seasoned bread crumbs and deep fried) and wings.
