In August, Oath Craft Pizza, which had only opened its original location in Nantucket a few months earlier, announced its expansion to Boston with a 150-square-foot kiosk inside South Station, promising "aggressive plans for growth." The South Station location sprung up before the end of October, along with news that a Davis Square location might be in the works, plus potential outposts in other undisclosed neighborhoods. In late December, a Chestnut Hill location was announced, and now the previously hinted-at Davis Square location is moving along.
In the Davis Square LiveJournal community, Ron Newman reports that Oath Craft is eyeing the Singer sewing shop space at 280 Elm St., citing paperwork filed with the city. The proposed location would seat 16.
As a handful of LiveJournal commenters note, Davis Square has a variety of other pizza options, including Flatbread Company at the bowling alley, Mike's Food & Spirits (right across from the proposed Oath Craft location), and Cristo's, a fast-casual pizza and sub shop. They each fill a somewhat different niche, though, and Oath Craft aims to turn fast-casual to ultra-fast-casual with pizza that cooks in 90 seconds. The crispy-crust pies are 11 inches in diameter and are also available in half-pie increments.
If this location is approved, perhaps it's fitting that it would be next to Chipotle. Oath Craft also offers a "build-your-own" option, the "Selfie" pizza, with numerous sauce and topping choices.
Oath Craft's menu also includes salads and dessert pizzas, such as a cookie dough and ricotta combination.
