A third location of The Friendly Toast opens tomorrow at 7 a.m. in Back Bay, Boston Restaurant Talk reported. The Portsmouth, New Hampshire-based restaurant has been working on this latest spot at 35 Stanhope St. for months, nailing down the necessary details and gathering its notable quirky interior decorations.
Aside from Portsmouth, The Friendly Toast has a Cambridge location that often has lines out the door.
The restaurant is more than just a breakfast place: Lunch and dinner menus include salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, and more, plus beer, wine, and cocktails. Its decadent breakfast and brunch menus feature items like huevos rancheros, smoked salmon Benedict, chicken and waffles, and more.
Jarred Bailey will serve as chef at the new Friendly Toast. He's an alum of Polcari's, Not Your Average Joe's, and The Cheesecake Factory.
Update:According to a rep for The Friendly Toast, the Back Bay location will have two floors. The upstairs portion will serve as the dining area, with the downstairs set up as an event space. The lower part (unofficially referred to as "The Boom Boom Room") is still under renovations, so won't be open immediately.
The restaurant will have a full bar, with late night hours on Fridays and Saturdays, and the full menu available until closing. The restaurant is also open to the possibility of creating a dance floor for the room downstairs.
The hours for the Back Bay location are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 a.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
