Starting this weekend, Somerville will have easy and consistent access to Better Bagels. This pop-up, seen in restaurants around the city for the last year, finally has a place to call home, thanks to 7ate9 Bakery at 199C Highland Ave.
On Saturday, January 16, Better Bagels will start serving its New York-style, hand-rolled bagels on a regular basis in the Somerville bakery, which conveniently sits close to the Winter Farmers Market at the Armory. They'll be available every Tuesday through Sunday, unless 7ate9 Bakery is hosting a special event. (This Sunday, for example, the bakery is hosting a Tex-Mex Eats breakfast taco pop-up, so bagels will not be available.)
Better Bagels posted the news on Facebook, about a year after it started making plain, everything, sesame, and poppy seed bagels for its pop-ups. Now 7ate9 will serve "bagel breakfast, bagel sandwiches, and bagel love," in addition to some accompanying homemade spreads and lunch options.
7ate9 is open Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on Monday.
