Little Big Diner has just torn the paper off its windows and announced an official opening for tonight (Sunday, January 10) at 5 p.m. after a quieter opening last night. There's only dinner service for today, but regular hours are expected to kick in tomorrow — it'll be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
Located at 1247 Centre St. in Newton, the 20-seat Little Big Diner aims to highlight "soulful classics" of Eastern Asia in a "casual, fun, high energy space." Sycamore's David Punch is behind the project, and Daniel Scott, previously sous chef at Sycamore, is executive chef.
The opening menu includes "little big bowls" of rice, veggies, and various proteins; several ramen options; "little" dishes of things like dumplings, salads, and wings; and more. There are also several cocktails on draft as well as wine, beer, sakes, and sodas.
