Apparently, some people believe a landmark Adams Corner pub has been sold. Richie Elia, whose son, Matthew, owns Sonny's, and whose father is the pub's namesake, told the Dorchester Reporter that's simply not true.
"But the door is open to prospective buyers," Elia said.
Sonny's offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, with a menu of pub-style favorites, including Irish breakfast, burgers, salads, seafood, pizza, and appetizers like wings, nachos, and chicken fingers. The bar, grill, and keno shop has been appraised, and the family has been approached by potential buyers recently. Elia said he would want at least $2 million from any sale.
Sonny Elia purchased the bar in 1968 and died last year at age 88. Richie Elia's current plan is to work alongside his son for six more years. "It's a comfortable, good business," he told the Reporter.
But make him an offer.
