Woburn's own independent burger shop, WuBurger, has announced it will open September 8.
The restaurant formerly housed Mr. Charlie's at 880 Main St. in North Woburn, and the new shop was aiming for a September 1 debut, as previously reported. WuBurger will offer a similar menu as its predecessor: burgers, fries, hot dogs, and ice cream. It will add some specialty sandwiches, and the new company notes on its website that all ingredients are "consciously-sourced."
Single and double patties and Nathan's Famous hot dogs can be customized with a variety of fresh and grilled vegetables, sauces, cheeses, and premium toppings like homemade chili or a fried egg. Sandwiches have locally-specific names, like Tanner Pride (Woburn High School's mascot), North Shore, and Ferullo, the name of a local athletic field. There are waffle fries and house-made onion rings, and for dessert, Richardson's Ice Cream is served in cups, cones, frappes, and sundaes.
After it opens Sept. 8, WuBurger will operate seven days a week from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
