A new restaurant aiming to honor the storied past of its predecessor opens to the public in Downtown Crossing Monday. Yvonne's, a "modern supper club," held a soft opening for friends and family over the weekend in the space formerly occupied by Locke-Ober.
The restaurant's website reveals little about its ambiance, but social media from the soft opening highlighted Yvonne's library bar — featuring a portrait of John F. Kennedy, a reported Locke-Ober regular — cocktails, and ambiance.
Owners Chris Jamison (Lolita Cocina), Mark Malatesta, and Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz were spotted at the opening.
Yvonne's has not released details on the menu yet, but chef Juan Pedrosa (The Glenville Stops) hinted at some possible items on Instagram:
In addition to Pedrosa, the team at Yvonne's includes chef Tom Berry (Proprietors in Nantucket), pastry chef Kate Holowchik (Bread & Salt Hospitality, JM Curley), and beverage director Will Thompson, who has previous experience at Drink and Deep Ellum, among others.
