When The Envoy Hotel opened in the Seaport District (70 Sleeper St.) over the summer, it also debuted the eighth-story Lookout Rooftop Bar and announced that a full restaurant, Outlook Kitchen and Bar, would open in the fall. Outlook's day is here — the 153-seat restaurant officially opens today. Like most hotel restaurants, it's pretty much open all the time: breakfast is served from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. daily, lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a bar menu from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and dinner from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
CHOPPS alum David Verdo, whose resume also includes stints at Miel and Asana, is executive chef, as previously reported. He's serving a menu that features plenty of seafood and plenty of pork (sometimes together, such as in the squid and chorizo tomato soup). The offerings include flatbreads, salads, small plates, and larger entrees that top out, price-wise, at a $39 strip steak with a foie gras sauce. Tagliatelle and a burger are on the lower end of the dinner entree price scale, at $15 and $16 respectively.
The cocktail selection highlights some local producers, like Bully Boy and Privateer, and the small beer selection includes a few Harpoons.
The space features an installation of light bulbs spanning across a wall — it's meant to represent the city lights reflected across the bridge, according to a press release — along with recycled teak wood and a glassed-in kitchen. (For those who like to watch what happens up close, there's a chef's table for two.) At the bar, which seats 28, there's a power outlet for every person, so bring your dying gadgets.
When the season allows, there's a 48-seat patio as well.
Here are the breakfast, lunch, bar, and dinner menus, as well as the wine bottle list and Lookout's drink list.
