Chefs Kevin O’Donnell and Michael Lombardi are opening their casual, Italian-style restaurant and bar, SRV, in the South End this fall, and the Salty Pig alumni are throwing the first of three preview parties at Fairsted Kitchen later this month.
On Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 10 p.m., first prototype pop-up will focus on cicchetti, small snacks that will be available at the 14-seat bar. Some of the menu items O'Donnell and Lombardi are testing are mozzarella in carozza with bonito, squash blossom, and barone tomato; baccala montecato with salt cod, black bread, and herbs; and Carta di Musica with lardo, rosemary, and SRV bran.
After Fairsted Kitchen, the SRV team will take over at Toro on Thursday, Sept. 3 from 10:30 p.m. - midnight, and at Brick & Mortar for a late-night party on Wednesday, Sept. 30. All of the events will be similar to the vibe one would find at a rustic bacaro in the "serene republic of Venice," the type of wine bar SRV is emulating.
SRV is currently under construction at 569 Columbus Ave.
