Doretta Taverna & Raw Bar will debut next month, reports Boston Restaurant Talk, citing a job posting on BostonChefs.com seeking applicants for all front-of-house positions. Michael Schlow is behind the Greek restaurant, which will be located in the former Via Matta space. Schlow closed Via Matta, an Italian restaurant, at the end of May after a 13-year run in order to make the transformation.
Doretta is inspired by Schlow's wife's Greek heritage, according to prior reports, and it will feature "healthy, light, delicious food" made with New England ingredients. The ambiance will be more casual than Via Matta's — goodbye, white tablecloths — and there will be a larger patio. Renovations also include the relocation of the main entrance and bar.
