1) ARLINGTON — There's a new spot in town for Thai food. A server at the restaurant said Thana Thai Kitchen opened about five days ago. The eatery replaces Lady Siam, a Thai and Vietnamese eatery that shuttered in June. Thana's website will be updated sometime in the near future, but its menu is available on Foodler and GrubHub. So far, classics like drunken noodles, panang and massaman curries, and pad Thai have been popular, the server said. She also recommends the stewed beef noodles. Thana Thai Kitchen is open daily from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Status: Confirmed open. 882A Massachusetts Ave., Arlington Center. (781) 648-8888
2) QUINCY — Royal Hotpot Sushi & Bar has been softly open for a week, and tomorrow will be the all-you-can-eat restaurant's first official day, owner Jessica Lau said. Early Yelp reviews confirm what Lau told Eater earlier this month: The former Outback Steakhouse space is well-decorated. Hotpot options are extensive, including a half dozen different broths, rice and noodles, and meat, seafood, dumpling, and vegetable add-ons. Sushi includes sashimi and a variety of maki, and there are also yakitori options. Starting Thursday, Royal will be open daily from 11:30 a.m. - midnight. Status: Confirmed soft open. 227 Parkingway, Quincy. (617) 481-4874.
