From Town Spa to Lynwood Cafe to Hoey's Pizza at Amvets to Poopsies, bar pizza hotspots runs gloriously rampant south of Boston. The style features a thin, crispy crust with cheese almost out to the edge, and the 10-inch pan pizzas are just the right size for a hungry diner to take down without help, perhaps washed down with a pitcher of beer.
Starting tonight, Puritan & Co. will be serving bar pies on Thursday nights, a celebration of chef/owner Will Gilson's love of that signature South Shore style. The best part? They're free. Available starting at 9 p.m., drinkers can get a bar pie free with purchase of at least one bar beverage. (One pizza per person per night.)
