A&B Burgers has been planning to move from its original location in Salem to a larger spot in Beverly this summer, and owners Thomas Holland and Amy Butler recently announced that it will close for about a month in September in order to make the transition happen.

Boston Restaurant Talk noticed the August 7 post, in which A&B said it will shutter the Salem eatery on August 31 for about four weeks.

A&B needs the month to set up the new restaurant and hire and train a new staff, the team said in a statement on Facebook. The Beverly location, which is taking over a long-vacant grocery store, is currently under construction, and the team has shared some of its progress on Instagram.

A&B opened in Salem in December 2013 and announced its plans to move to Beverly this past February, with an ultimately unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign. A&B is not expanding; its original location inside a historic jail imposed some limitations on its development, the team explained when it announced the move.

Until August 31, A&B will be open at 50 St. Peter St. in Salem with business as usual. Keep an eye on the restaurant's Facebook for updates on its move to 206 Cabot St. in Beverly.
