Shanti, an Indian restaurant with locations in Dorchester and Roslindale, appears close to opening a third location in Kendall Square. A Chowhound user reports seeing signs up for the new place in between Commonwealth and Kika Tapas earlier this week.

As previously reported, Shanti owner Solmon Chowdhury appealed for Cambridge licensing back in March. The 50-seat restaurant in Kendall will also have an outdoor patio; licensing documents listed the address as 250 Kendall St., which is in the Watermark apartment building.

Shanti first opened in Dorchester in 1999, followed by the Roslindale Village outpost in 2013. Chowdhury and his wife, Rokeya, also own Central Square spots Moksa and its club, Naga, and they are in the process of opening up Dudley Cafe in the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building (the renovated Ferdinand building) in Dudley Square.

Shanti offers Indian cuisine including tandoori specials; fresh-baked naan and roti; and bhuna, a Bangladeshi style of cooking where spices are sauteed to develop deep, strong flavors.

Eater has reached out to the Shanti owners regarding an opening timeline for the Kendall Square restaurant.

UPDATE: It's set to open this fall.
