The reputation of Sichuan Garden II at The Baldwin has been growing over the past few years, and now its square footage is growing, too. Boston Restaurant Talk reports that owner and cocktail mastermind Ran Duan is planning to add a 45-seat lounge on the second floor of the Woburn restaurant.

Duan's bar pairs unique and award-winning cocktails with the restaurant's spicy Sichuan cuisine. Amidst a well-cultivated list of renowned beers; wines; and specialty Mai Tais are drinks such as Father's Advice, a Bacardi Gold cocktail with Cardamaro, Punt e Mes, amontillado, and creme de banana, which earned Duan honors at the a competition sponsored by the rum maker earlier this year. Duan is Eater Boston's reigning Bartender of the Year as well.

The new lounge, taking over a second-floor ballroom in the historic Woburn mansion, will include a service bar and six additional tables. The space will serve as overflow for both the downstairs bar and dining room, BRT surmises, noting the full dinner menu will be available at the tables. With leather couches anchoring the addition and mahogany paneling throughout, the new lounge will have a vintage library feel, the blog reports.

The new addition could open sometime this fall.
