Walloon's Fried Chicken, an expansion of a Boston-area food truck, is opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Peabody this fall.

Boston Restaurant Talk reported, via @CappyInBoston, that the former pommes frites specialists are setting up shop on Route 1 with fried chicken sandwiches and, likely, hand-cut, twice-fried French fries (and poutine). Walloon's is replacing The Nest, a drive-through with healthier, fast-casual options that opened last summer and closed earlier this year.

Walloon's is currently planning an October debut. In the meantime, the Walloon's truck has lunch options variably available at City Hall Plaza, the Arsenal on the Charles, Boston Public Library, and the SoWa Market.
