Notable Philadelphia chef Eli Kulp, paralyzed in the horrific Amtrak derailment in May, is currently undergoing extensive rehabilitation at a facility in Atlanta, and Boston's Ken Oringer (Toro, Coppa) is gathering a handful of local chefs to throw a fundraising dinner to support Kulp's recovery.
Taking place at Mike's City Diner in the South End this Monday, July 27, the dinner will feature eight courses and eight wine pairings, with all proceeds benefiting Kulp. Participating chefs include Jamie Bissonnette (Toro, Coppa), Andrew Taylor & Mike Wiley (Eventide in Portland, Maine), Meghann Ward (formerly of Coppa), Jay Hajj (Mike's City Diner), Matt Jennings (Townsman), Rodney Murillo (Davio's), and Kevin Walsh (Clio).
There are still a few seats remaining; email Toro general manager Katy Chirichiello to make a reservation. To donate directly to the Kulp family, visit GoFundMe.
