Local butcher Michael Dulock (M.F. Dulock Pasture-Raised Meats) plans to open a pizza shop in Malden, as previously reported, and it appears he's now getting closer. Sillari's Pizza is coming to 97 Medford St.
Construction on the space started late in June, and in the meantime, the team is working on an opening menu, according to a couple tweets from the fledgling account @SillarisPizza. (Dulock was @SillarisPizza's first follower.)
While construction is going on at the shop @sillari82 is busy developing our sauce recipe. #pizza #comingsoon

The pizza chef appears to be Scott Sillari, a New England Culinary Institute grad who staged last year with Underground Meats in Madison, Wis. On Instagram, @Sillari82 recently shared some homemade pizza trials, including cheese with cured egg bottarga, and a pepperoni pie made with home-cured meat.
Dulock locked down the Medford Street space last year, when he was looking to expand his Somerville butcher shop. He was looking for a pizza shop initially, because such a spot would come equipped with a full kitchen; when he found one, he decided to keep the pizza oven in place and put it to use.
When it was reported last year, the Malden shop was intended to be mainly a production facility for M.F. Dulock's, with pizza being a weekend option. Dulock said he wanted to offer "pizza party pizza," a New York- and Neapolitan-style hybrid like what he ate as a kid, he told Boston Magazine. Toppings would be limited to the classics, including pepperoni, mushrooms, garlic, onions, peppers.
Eater has reached out to Dulock for updated details on the upcoming Sillari's Pizza, so stay tuned.
