1) NEWTON — Manow Thai Kitchen opened last week with a full menu of Thai favorites. Named after a key ingredient in Thai cuisine, the lime, Manow comes from two Thailand natives who moved to the area in 2001 and aim to bring their authentic recipes to Newton. Manow has dine-in seating as well as a takeout operation. It's open Monday - Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon - 10 p.m. Status: Certified open. 1138 Beacon St., Newton. (617) 244-2858.
2) BACK BAY — Back Bay lost one sushi shop but gained another. Wabora Asian Fusion Bistro debuted yesterday in place of Ikura, Boston Restaurant Talk noted. It's the third location of Wabora and the first in the U.S.; the company is based in Ontario, Canada. Among the many specialty sushi rolls Wabora offers is one that slightly resembles an ice cream sundae, Urban Daddy reports; as well as the Newbury roll with tuna, salmon, and asparagus; and a vegetarian roll with marinated Mediterranean olives. There is also udon, gyoza, salads, and more. It's open daily from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Status: Certified open. 254 Newbury St., Boston. (617) 431-2284.
