Pru food court

It's official: As expected, the Prudential food court will close for good after business hours tonight to make way for Eataly. Boston Restaurant Talk noted The Shops at the Prudential Center posted a note on their website announcing the plan.

The closure affects nine businesses:

  • Ben & Jerry's
  • Boston Chowda Co.
  • Cheeseboy
  • Flamers Burgers & Chicken
  • Panda Express
  • Paradise Bakery & Cafe
  • Qdoba Mexican Grill
  • Regina Pizzeria
  • Sarku Japan

The Shops at the Prudential noted that other dining options in the building, including Cheesecake Factory, Top of the Hub, Cold Stone Creamery, Teavana, and more, remain open.

The food court is being engulfed by Mario Batali's three-floor "galleria of gastronomy," which will also take up space in a Pru-adjacent building currently being constructed. Eataly is slated to open in late 2016.

The food court closes at 9 p.m. tonight.
