The Venetian-inspired SRV, coming to the South End this fall, has brought on Ted Hawkins as general manager and wine director, a press release announced today.
Hawkins will join the Coda Group (SRV, Salty Pig, Coda Kitchen & Bar, Canary Square) after a handful of years with the Barbara Lynch Gruppo, first in 2011 at Menton and more recently as assistant general manager at No. 9 Park. Hawkins graduated from the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration, and he also studied wine with Cat Silirie while with the Gruppo.
SRV is inspired by a specific type of casual, Italian bar, and will feature wines from that land, as previously reported. Small plates called cicchetti, a main focus of the menu by co-owners and chefs Michael Lombardi and Kevin O'Donnell, are designed to complement offerings from the bar. The 14-seat bar and the restaurant's other dining areas are currently under construction.
