A 1700s-era inn southwest of Boston has been renovated and re-imagined by the couple behind La Morra, and their Heritage of Sherborn gastropub opens to the public for dinner tonight at 5 p.m. To help celebrate, the owners have also invited 20 breweries to the Inn for a beer fest, with live music, tonight.
The Heritage of Sherborn Inn and Restaurant is located at 33 No. Main St. A fine-dining restaurant will open in July, and there will also eventually be four full-service guest rooms and event spaces on site.
The pub and lounge area, grandly opening tonight, serves chef Josh Ziskin's farm-inspired, American fare in a casual setting. The lounge menu includes bar bites like Romaine hearts with duck egg, shaved cheese, roasted garlic, and fried anchovy; chopped liver with crostini; pizza with asparagus, spring onion, garlic, rosemary, and goat cheese; and a burger with arugula, Vermont cheddar, and grilled onion fries; plus 10 specialty cocktails.
Dinner in the pub offers some of the same snacks, plus La Morra's meatballs, and more. There is a sandwich menu, a handful of pizza offerings, and heartier entrees, including a creatively-plated lamb shepherd's pie.
The Heritage Coffee, Wine, and Provisions shop, formerly called Heritage Out, opened April 20 with Fazenda Coffee Roasters coffee, glimpses of Heritage of Sherborn's menu in take-out form, and a selection of fine wines, mainly Italian, curated by certified Italian wine specialist and owner Jennifer Ziskin.
The gastropub opens for dinner tonight and every Friday from 5 - 10 p.m. It's open for lunch Tuesday - Thursday from 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 - 9 p.m. On Weekends, brunch is served from 10:30 - 2 p.m., and the pub reopens for dinner from 5 - 10 p.m. (9 p.m. on Sundays).
The Provisions shop opens at 7 a.m. Monday - Saturday (8 a.m. on Sundays), closing at 7 p.m. on weeknights, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 6 p.m. on Sundays.
When it opens in July, the dining room will be serve nightly from 5 - 9 p.m., extending to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with weekend brunch from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
