After debuting some tacos to the public this past weekend at Harvard Square's annual Mayfair celebration, Naco Taco is extremely close to opening in Central Square, according to a flurry of updates on social media. In the past couple of days, Michael Scelfo has shared photos of the near-completed patio and colorful interior, and he indicated that yesterday was the first day of live prep.
The menu mostly consists of tacos and tortas, featuring ingredients like fried smelts, pig's head, lamb belly, and braised chicken thighs. Tortillas are made in-house (with lard), but vegetarian options are available.
In addition to tacos, Naco will offer a variety of fun details, reports Boston Magazine: pinball machines and other arcade games, spaghetti westerns on televisions, and "throwback" music videos.
