Whiskey or tequila? Guinness beef stew or a specialty burrito? Soon, a new restaurant will open in Waltham where you won't have to choose. An Irish pub with a Mexican menu (scattered with some pub favorites) is poised to open its second location this week, according to a Facebook event from Garcia Brogan's Waltham.

The combination cantina/pub has had a location in Lowell since 2009. While a specific opening date for the Waltham outpost hasn't been announced by the restaurant, live music takes its stage on Saturday, May 23. When it does open, Garcia Brogan's will offer classics like shepherd's pie, burgers, fish and chips, and lobster mac and cheese, and it will also offer a variety of Mexican dishes, including tortas, tacos, and fajitas. Its tequila and whiskey lists are equitable, too.

Garcia Brogan's will be located at 240 Moody St., formerly the site of The Skellig, an Irish pub which also hosted live music. Boston Restaurant Talk first noted that Garcia Brogan's would move its second location there last summer, and earlier this week, that site mentioned the new location should open this weekend. Keep an eye on Garcia Brogan's social media profile for details.
