A local pizza chain shut down its South Shore location over the weekend. Stone Hearth Pizza Co. shared on Facebook that this weekend was its Hingham location's final hurrah, as noted by Boston Restaurant Talk.
Founded in Belmont in 2005, the local chain's Hingham location opened in the Hingham Shipyard in 2013. The local chain appears to be downsizing: Stone Hearth Pizza Co. has already closed suburban locations in Winchester and Needham this year. Earlier this spring, Ivan Millan-Pulecio, executive chef with the company for eight years, opened the independent Hearth Pizzeria in place of the shuttered Needham restaurant.
Stone Hearth Pizza's three locations closer to Boston remain. "Come see us in #Allston, #Belmont or #Cambridge!" the weekend's social media post reads.
