South Boston is getting a new restaurant this summer from the team behind the two-location Five Horses Tavern, Boston Restaurant Talk reports.
Worden Hall, as the new place will be called, sought a liquor license transfer last year from The Patriot, which just closed last month. It is under construction as part of a mixed-use development at 26 W. Broadway in Southie, and that project's social media confirmed that the restaurant is coming this summer.
Last year, Universal Hub reported that Worden Hall was a new venture from Dylan Welsh, owner of the two Five Horses Taverns in Davis Square and in the South End. Hawkeye Hospitality Group, the parent company, is currently hiring front- and back-of-house management for a third venture, which "promises to be the welcome mat for South Boston."
