Despite today's high of 39 degrees; the light rain, mist, and fog; and the National Weather Service's hazardous weather outlook, spring is indeed really here. Kimball Farm ice cream stands are reopening for the season. @HiddenBoston, for one, has been tweeting his excitement about this harbinger of spring for days.
The flagship home for homemade ice cream in Westford is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and despite the chilly weather, the Carlisle (343 Bedford Rd.) and Lancaster (1543 Lunenburg Rd.) shops are set to open today. The Jaffrey, N.H. (158 Turnpike Rd.) ice cream stand will open next Wednesday, April 15, and that is also the date the grill at the Lancaster location gets fired up for the season. An opening date is to be announced for the activities at Westford's Kimball Farm, which include mini golf, bumper boats, batting cages, an interactive live animal exhibit, and more.
