Waltham's Moody Street is about to turn into even more of a dining destination. While it's always been home to a few gems, the opening of Moody's Delicatessen & Provisions a little over a year ago brought new attention to the area (and chef/owner Joshua Smith snagged the 2014 Chef of the Year Eater Award.) Smith confirms that he will officially open the doors to The Backroom, the new full-service restaurant attached to his popular deli, this Wednesday.
Friends and family who previewed the restaurant over the weekend praised the "amazing dining experience" (just look at that charcuterie), the "incredible spicy flatbread," the "beautiful food & space," and more.
The Backroom serves a meaty menu full of dishes like bourbon-bathed pork belly, "never the same" meatballs, and smoked wagyu brisket, and there's an extensive wine list — not to mention great bourbon.
To start, The Backroom will be open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday.
