Nissim Shimon Trabelsi, a local developer, hopes to open a hotel at 1650 VFW Parkway in West Roxbury (by the Dedham line), the former site of a McDonald's, reports Universal Hub. Ultimately, he'd like it to become a chain, and he's in talks with several management companies to find one to run it. One possibility is the company behind the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, one of the most well-known in the city.
The 69-room West Roxbury hotel would feature a glatt kosher restaurant, mikvah baths, a swimming pool, and a ballroom. Trabelsi won't need permission from the zoning board, just the Boston Redevelopment Authority, which is accepting public comments for another couple of weeks.
