BostInno reports that the Boston Redevelopment Authority approved plans for a new 12-story, mixed use development project at 110-112 Broad St., but the project will preserve existing ground-floor establishments there, the Littlest Bar and The Times Irish Pub.
When the project was announced earlier this year, it was unclear if the bars would remain. If the Littlest Bar was evicted, it would have been the its second move, landing at the Bulfinch building on Broad Street almost a decade ago after development pushed it out of its original Province Street location. New Boston Ventures, which is spearheading the development project, noted that the Littlest Bar and The Times bring irreplaceable walk-in traffic. Both offer full-service pub fare and views overlooking the Rose Kennedy Greenway.
In addition to keeping the pubs around, the new development will add 52 residential units, 3,500 square feet of commercial space, and an innovative, 35-space subterranean parking lot, BostInno notes.
UPDATE, 6/11/15: No, The Littlest Bar will not remain, and apparently salvaging it was never part of the developer's plan.
