Beloved Saugus doughnut shop Kane's Donuts, which has been around for nearly six decades, is expanding for the first time with a location in the heart of Boston, as previously reported. (Other locations may come later.) Located at One International Place, the new outpost will go by the name Kane's Handcrafted Donuts, and a fancy name requires fancy signage, which is now in place.

"We are almost there!!!!!!!!!!!" the shop posted on Facebook, sharing photos of the new sign, while the person who originally posted the photos noted that the opening would be "next week."

The Boston proper doughnuts will be more expensive than their Saugus siblings — about $3.50 a piece versus $1.75, according to earlier reports — thanks to the use of "more gourmet ingredients."

The shop offers a wide variety of doughnut flavors, from red velvet to Maine blueberry. Keep an eye out for seasonal flavors like lemon chiffon and peach melba when spring finally arrives.
