Woods Hill Table is on the verge of opening in West Concord (24 Commonwealth Ave.) — it may even be later this week, according to a recent Facebook comment. The restaurant is centered around owner (and Concord native) Kristin Canty's "journey to support small farming and celebrate the benefits of fresh local food." As part of that journey, she and her husband purchased a farm in Bath, New Hampshire, now called The Farm at Woods Hill, which is the source of many of the ingredients that appear on Woods Hill Table's menu. All of the beef, pork, and chicken, for example, was pastured at the farm.
Canty, a documentary filmmaker, has rounded out the restaurant's team with general manager Scott Toney (Craigie on Main, Locke-Ober, Radius) and executive chef Charles Foster (Clio).
Located in the former West Concord Supermarket space, Woods Hill Table includes an "oyster/raw/charcuterie/cheese bar" as well as a seasonal patio and a private dining room. There's also a fireplace, perfect for those non-patio days.
Meanwhile, another restaurant-born-from-a-farm is also preparing to open in West Concord, right down the street: Saltbox Kitchen (84 Commonwealth Ave.) Chef/owner Ben Elliott is also a Locke-Ober alum. While Saltbox was initially planning on a February opening, it'll now be this spring.
