The middle of the Cricket World Cup seems an odd time for America's first cricket-themed sports bar to take a hiatus, but that is unfortunately the case at Hit Wicket in Cambridge.

"The snow storms & tough winter have impacted our ability to maintain an acceptable level of service that we would like to provide to our customers," restaurateur Shubha Ramesh Kumar wrote in an email to Eater. She added that her team is "working aggressively" to get back on their feet "so that our customers can continue to enjoy the best experience possible with us. We are hoping to be back very soon."

The Inman Square bar opened in 2013. According to a tipster, a tweet, and a Chowhound userHit Wicket has been dark for about the past three days. Currently, the online reservation system OpenTable is not available for Hit Wicket, which the restaurant used previously. Hit Wicket is normally open seven days a week.
