The Boston Globe has more on the newest concept coming from the MET Restaurant Group and Kathy Sidell: Saltie Girl will be a Barcelona-inspired seafood spot that will be right next door to MET Back Bay, but indeed, nothing like what the group has done so far, as Sidell said when the venture was announced in November.
The new restaurant, targeting a July opening, will take over 279 Dartmouth St., which currently houses Sidell's private events space Townhouse. A large dining counter will anchor Saltie Girl as a place to enjoy oysters, lobster, and salads, the Globe reports. MET chef David Daniels will join the new concept, and the kitchen will also can and jar seafood and vegetables. "Foods that are picante, sharp, edgy, and briny speak to me," Sidell told the Globe.
In addition to Saltie's neighbor MET Back Bay, the restaurant group operates MET Bar & Grill in both Natick and Dedham, MET on Main on Nantucket, and MET Bethesda in Maryland. When it opens, Saltie Girl will serve both lunch and dinner.
