Chef-owner David Punch (Ten Tables Cambridge, Sycamore) received alcohol, common victualler's, and entertainment license approval from the Newton Board of License Commissioners on March 17 for a new restaurant 1247 Centre St. in Newton Centre, a representative of the city department said when reached by phone today. (The minutes will not be available until after the board approves them next month, he said.)
The space most recently housed Centre Wine & Spirits. The new venture, potentially called Walville, was approved for a full bar and seating for 17, and can operate from 11 a.m. - 1 a.m. 7 days a week. The entertainment license applies to recorded music only.
Punch, who also just welcomed a baby girl into his family, opened the Newton Center hotspot Sycamore in 2012, after sharpening his skills at Ten Tables in Jamaica Plain and opening that restaurant's second location in Cambridge. Hit up the tip line with any more information about this next project.
