Sip Wine Bar & Kitchen, a Downtown Crossing restaurant nearing its third birthday, has altered its attached space, previously the Avery Provisions shop, to create The Tasting Room at Sip. The 48-seat room includes both "traditional" seating and communal tables, and the kitchen is open, according to a press release. It will be used for pop-ups, classes, and other functions. "If a company wants to take out their entire office and spend the day rolling sushi, we'll set it up," Legendary Restaurant Group chef/owner Chris Damian says via the release. "If someone wants to try out a restaurant concept in the space, we'll give it a shot." Legendary Restaurant Group also includes Papagayo, Burger Dive, Scollay Square, and Max & Dylans.
The new space will launch on April 5 with an Easter pop-up brunch by Bread & Salt Hospitality, who are about to wrap up their residency at Wink & Nod. They'll be serving a three-course prix fixe menu ($39) as well as five- and nine-course tasting menus ($69 and $119, respectively). Diners will find dishes like Greek lemon soup, Persian-style lamb, and a caviar-and-black-truffle omelet. Reservations are available through the Reserve app.
