18-year-old Harvard Square French restaurant Sandrine's Bistro is closing, as previously reported, and now there's a date: March 30. "We are very sad to say goodbye and hope you will dine with us before our final day, Monday, March 30th, 2015," the owners write in an email newsletter. "We would love to see all of you before we move on to our future endeavors. We appreciate your business over the years and look forward to seeing you before we close." They also note that the new owners will honor gift certificates.
While the owner of a Back Bay French restaurant, La Voile, had originally planned to purchase the space, in the end it was the owners of The Asgard and The Kinsale (Classic Restaurant Concepts LLC) who made the deal. Co-owner Peter Sarmanian previously told Eater that the new restaurant will not be an Irish pub or bar, like their other establishments. As of early March, the project was in the early planning stages; no opening timeline has been announced yet.
UPDATE: The new restaurant could open as soon as May, reports the Globe.
