French/American eatery Royal has softly opened in Watertown this week and will celebrate its grand opening with a full array of breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings this Saturday, March 7.

The Royal team, Melanie Nye and chef Rachid Kourda, took several months to renovate the space at 45 Lexington St. to give it a "cozy, chill vibe." Red walls complement lots of black leather furniture and vintage-inspired decorations, and candles illuminate the restaurant.

Kourda will build the menu with locally-sourced produce and meats as much as possible, according to a press release about the grand opening. He will also take care in plating the food: "I am not only a chef, but also an artist. The food I create is ‘sexy food’ with a unique design to each plate," he says in the release.

An express menu of breakfast sandwiches and entrees is available beginning at 7 a.m., with the full lunch menu taking over at 11:30 a.m. Kourda will offer a daily $15 "Bento box" of five small sides and an entree, plus flatbreads, salads, pasta dishes, and more. A sample menu is on Royal's Facebook page. Dinner will be served from 4 - 11 p.m., including a nightly four-course prix-fixe option.
