In the coming weeks, East by Northeast chef/owner Phillip Tang is collaborating with Jitti Chaithiraphant for a series of pop-up dinners in the now-shuttered restaurant's space, as previously reported.

Now, East by Northeast sous chef Tom Griffin is getting in on the pop-up fun as well, announcing on Instagram today that he'll be co-hosting a "'tiendita' or 'little-shop'-style" event there on Sunday, March 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Griffin and Marlise DosReis (currently working at Blue Dragon) will be serving tortas (Mexican sandwiches) — and it looks like there will be some pretty creative beverages as well. (UPDATE: There will be three types of agua fresca available, as well as house-made "Doritos" accompanying the tortas. There will be three types of tortas — roast leg of pork, braised beef cheek, and smoked tofu.)

No advance tickets necessary — just show up between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (or until supplies run out).

Also consider snagging a ticket for one of Tang and Chaithiraphant's dinners.
