No official opening date, but lots to look forward to.

Recent photos of a hive-shaped wood oven being built in place suggest the expansion of chef Joshua Smith’s Moody’s Delicatessen & Provisions — according to the hashtags, perhaps called Moody’s Backroom? — might be near opening at 464 Moody St. in Waltham, adjacent to Boston’s best deli.

Moody’s Delicatessen & Provisions, which opened in 2013, took over its neighboring space last year when the well-regarded Wings Express shuttered. Boston Restaurant Talk has a good roundup of this series of events.

Now, the Instagrammed install of the wood-fired oven and also a recent job posting give more insight about what to expect from the forthcoming dining spot and wine bar. The Moody’s team is looking to hire a wine director and other positions to follow. The listing also indicates the new place will feature a 16-seat bar with an enomatic wine dispenser as well as a focus on tequilas and bourbons.

While an opening date is elusive, when the time comes, the new restaurant will have Tuesday through Saturday hours.
