SOMERVILLE — Because Kirkland Tap & Trotter loves you and wants you to get through this winter, the Camberville eatery is offering some specials "starting tonight until whenever the parking situation gets better," a rep tells Eater. Anyone who shows their Kirkland server a taxi or rideshare receipt gets chef's choice of an appetizer on the house, with purchase of an entree. Also, for the same nebulous span of time (excluding V-Day, which has its own special menu), the neighborhood kitchen will have one discounted special appetizer. Brave the snow!
KENMORE SQUARE — Take the high road with a Scottish Supper at Eastern Standard on Tuesday, February 17. Four courses — including, of course, haggis — will be accompanied by tastes of exceptional whiskies and even a special milk punch. ES offers a wide range of scotches always, and the dinner will allow bar manager Naomi Levy to educate guests on some of the more unique liquids on the list in a fun atmosphere. There may or may not be some rousing choruses of Scottish drinking songs... Tickets available here.
JAMAICA PLAIN — What better time of year to host a luau? Ten Tables JP plans to escape the winter weather on Wednesday, February 25 with a Tiki Night. If promises of chefs and bartenders in grass skirts and a ukulele duel aren't enough, the restaurant also has a beachy apps menu and classic cocktail list planned. The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. and goes all night; reservations aren't necessary.
