SOMERVILLE — The Independent is partying with Lagunitas Brewing Co. tonight as part of the California beer company's #couchtrippin' tour. Unclear if the Indo is trucking in any old couches, but they will definitely be pouring some special brews, including New Dogtown Pale Ale and a cocoa rye porter called Scare City #2. The party's underway and goes all night. [FB]
HUB-WIDE — This is a big week for local chefs on national TV. After Chef Michael Schlow visits The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon tonight, Chef Suzi Maitland (Trina's Starlite Lounge, Audubon) will compete on the Guy's Grocery Games on Sunday, March 1. The Food Network show pits chefs against others who were also featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It'll premiere at 8 p.m. and has other planned airings this week as well. SPRING HILL — If watching TV isn't for you, Cuisine en Locale has your back. Also on Sunday, the Somerville space is hosting a not-so-secret dinner party called ONCE, with chef Trevor Smith (Craigie on Main, Gramercy Tavern). The five-course menu is themed with "visions of spring." The event starts at 5 p.m., includes an optional booze pairing, and tickets are necessary. Get yours — and a glimpse of the menu — here. LEATHER DISTRICT — And now for something completely different: South Street Diner is celebrating its 18th anniversary on Wednesday, March 4 with an unbeatable deal. At Lobster Fest, the landmark diner is offering a cup of chowder, a boiled lobster or steak course, and a dessert for just $10. The deal goes all day, from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. [FB]
