If you've been keeping a close watch on the long-awaited Brewer's Fork in Charlestown, you may have seen a surge in social media chatter last night — the doors finally opened to industry friends, who took to Twitter to rave about the "tremendous food, drink and hospitality" and the "best pizza in Boston, hands down."

Michael Cooney (Kingfish Hall, The Publick House) and John Paine (Les Zygomates, Moody's Delicatessen) are behind the Hayes Square restaurant. The duo met while working together at Sorriso, and they've been talking about opening a restaurant together for five years, looking for a space "that's so ugly only [they'd] love it," Cooney previously told Eater. Here it is at last, all full of brick and wood and an open kitchen. Stay tuned for some glorious outdoor dining after winter gets out of the way.

The restaurant, which features wood-fired pizzas and small plates, plans to let the public in tomorrow night (Friday, February 27). After a week or so of dinner service (5 p.m. to 11 p.m.), lunch might debut.

UPDATE: Surprise! Brewer's Fork opened on Thursday, February 26.
