Bistro du Midi launches a new brunch menu this weekend, along with the opportunity to make a reservation for the upstairs dining room, which overlooks the Common. (Brunch used to be served just downstairs in the cafe and just for walk-ins, and this is the first big change to the brunch menu since the French restaurant opened just over five years ago.)
Offered both on Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the new brunch menu includes a few ways to fancy up your weekend. You could, for example, add caviar to your citrus tea-cured salmon Benedict — or perhaps a foie gras torchon to your grass-fed burger. But most importantly, you could splurge on the $17 bouillabaisse bloody mary (saffron-scented seafood broth, tomato, anise, horseradish, vodka, and a seared jumbo prawn staring right at you).
Here's a look at the menu.
