KENDALL SQUARE — Tomorrow night only, Craigie on Main is showcasing two lesser-known whiskey regions, Japan and the United States, at East Meets West. Representatives from Japan's Nikka Whisky and Seattle's Westland Whiskey will be on hand to drop knowledge about Japan's growing scene and how U.S. distillers are making their way in the world of whiskey. Head bartender Rob Ficks developed the drink list, which also includes flights of Japanese and American whiskies. No reservations necessary. [Press Release]
HUB-WIDE — The event formerly known as Restaurant Week is coming up: Dine Out Boston brings prix-fixe menu options to restaurants around the city from March 1 - 6 and 8 - 13. The biannual event is produced in March and August by the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau. This time, more than 150 restaurants are participating, both in Boston proper and its surrounding cities, all the way out to Lexington and Concord. See what the chef at your favorite place can do at the standard price points, or take the opportunity to try a new hotspot for a special price. Or avoid it all together. [Official Site]
SOMERVILLE — If you find yourself dying to go out on Sunday night but deterred by the previous news that Dine Out Boston has begun, find a safe haven at Foundry on Elm.
